Elcowire has signed a groundbreaking agreement with Meva Energy to supply 9 MW of renewable biogas to its Helsingborg facility in Sweden. This deal makes Elcowire the first copper wire producer globally to fully replace fossil gas with fossil-free energy in its production process, setting a new standard for sustainable metallurgy. The partnership addresses a critical challenge in the industry, as copper melting has traditionally relied on fossil fuels to achieve the high temperatures required for metal production.

Yesterday the students at the Master’s programme in Management (MiM) presented their ideas on a live case that they work on in teams during December. Attending from the case company Elcowire, a Helsingborg based company within the copper industry, was Paul Gustavsson (CEO) and Mikael Johansson (Head of Business Unit High Voltage & Specials). The task for the presentation was to come up with growth strategies as well as describe what activities, resources and organizational structure needed to implement their strategy.

“It is always appreciated to work with real life challenges. Working with present problems is very valuable for both for teachers and students,” says Ola Mattisson, Senior lecturer at Master’s programme in Management.

“This is a great opportunity for us to collaborate with young talents and gain fresh perspectives on real-world challenges.
