Beside the standard materials defined in EN50119 and 50149, we have developed our high-tech alloys Valthermo and Valcond.

Valthermo is a copper-tin alloy (CuSn0,1) which has the same electric properties as pure copper (Cu-ETP) and copper-silver (CuAg0,1).  Thermal properties of Valthermo and copper-silver are the same and higher than those of pure copper which leads to a higher ampacity of Valthermo and copper-silver compared to pure copper. When it comes to the mechanical properties, Valthermo shows its strength. Creeping and wear are lower than those of copper-silver and significantly lower than those of a pure copper product. Therefore, maintenance and renewal cost can be saved. As a result of this Life Cycle Cost (LCC) can be reduced clearly which has convinced many operators of overhead contact lines to substitute their standard products by our Valthermo products. Additionally, the use of Valthermo products can help to reduce the CO₂ output.

Valcond is a high-developed copper-magnesium alloy. With special production techniques we are able to decrease the electric resistance of our Valcond products in comparison to standard copper-magnesium products while mechanical properties are the same. This leads to higher ampacity and lower losses which helps us to get a greener future.
